Guildford Arts Yvonne Arnaud Art Exhibition at The Mill Studios, Guildford www.guildfordarts.com

Today was setting up day for this annual exhibition featuring the work of local artists specialising in painting, photography, printmaking, glass and sculpture.

The exhibition is open from 5-20 July, Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 7.30 pm, and 10 am to 6 pm on 10-13 July and 20 July. 

The official opening is at 6.30 pm on Tuesday 4 July by the Curator of the Watts Gallery - do pop along if you can, you'll be in for a treat!

I'm currently working on a new collection ready for my next exhibition with Guildford Arts.

Much of my inspiration comes from observations found in the natural world, and my latest series draws on the beauty of gossamer threads woven  between blades of grass heavy with  droplets of dew on early morning walks. 

As usual with my work, it involves some intricate work placing thin 'strings' of glass between walls made from grains of glass, and reminds me a bit of playing 'Jack Straws' as every placement is key to prevent other pieces moving!  

My latest commission has been to make a galaxy of stars for a wedding cake!  The bride and groom have chosen a galaxy theme an wanted to have two glass stars for the top and one for each of the bridal party as keepsakes.

I have used cobalt blue and a deep purple glass for the stars. . . Congratulations to the happy couple, who are to be married in June!

The AppArt exhibition is in full swing - finishing on  16th April at Prior's Field School, Godalming.   Lots of beautiful work to see, with over 700 exhibits of hand made works of art and an outdoor sculpture trial.

The exhibition was featured on BBC SouthToday and this weekend we had visitors from far and wide coming along.

Entry is free and it's well worth a visit!

I am exhibiting some work from my 'Frost' series - lamps set on a handmade wooden base and two sizes of my Lattice Frost bowls.

Do pop along if you can, you won't be disappointed!

Inspiration found along my woodland walks this weekend - look at this amazing fungus, colour and texture abound just hidden on this branch.

I love the textures of different barks, in my Trails and Contours series I use moulds taken directly from bark - to build up textures within my glass. . . looking forward to getting some studio time soon for more making!

I am delighted to have had my work selected for the AppArt Easter Exhibition and Sculpture Trail to be held at Prior's Field School, Godalming from 1st to 16th April.

Delighted to have had two of my works accepted for the current exhibition entitled 'Space' at Cranleigh Arts Centre, 1 High Street, GU6 8AS.

The exhibition runs from now until 23rd July and encompasses themed work from local artists.
