Frost

My Frost collection takes its inspiration from frost and snow, touched by sunlight and emphasizing beauty within a fleeting fragility.  

I create decorative platters and bowls, and individual frosted leaves.  To recreate such frost like forms, molten glass is gathered from a furnace, poured into water and shattered into thousands of pieces of frit with a ‘frost-like’ resemblance.  The frit is carefully placed within specially shaped moulds and fired to a precise temperature to maintain its glistening frosty appearance and resemble a frozen form.  A final firing takes place to create soft curves, allowing light to fully enhance the frosted effects. 

Some of my work includes Frost Lamps, set on a hand crafted wooden base with a soft glow 'retro' style bulb to enhance the visual effect of the glass.
